Laureate Night Out

Enjoy an evening of poetry with current Lansing Poet Laureate Laura Apol and Lansing Poet Laureate Emeritus Dennis Hinrichsen. Laura is a professor at MSU and is just starting her two-year appointment as Laureate for the Greater Lansing area. Over the summer, she and Dennis have been working with the Clinton County Arts Council on the St. Johns Sidewalk Poetry Contest which will result in three poems being etched at three locations in St. Johns, including the Wilson Center.

Laura has a new book poems from MSU Press entitled Nothing but the Blood, while Dennis has a new chapbook of poems titled [q / lear] from Green Linden Press.

The Old Town Poetry Series

The fall season was kicked off with a reading at the MICA Gallery by new Lansing Poet Laureate, Laura Apol, Sunday, Sept. 15. Musician Brandon McCoy was also featured in the program. Several poets shared a poem during the Open Mic session after the featured performers. The Old Town Poetry Series is a production of the Lansing Poetry Club.
